George Gabrielsen is a resident of Jamesport where he has raised 4
children with his wife, Janice. His children are Kristina, Robert,
Georgia and Stephanie.
From 1992-present,
George is the owner of Gabrielsen’s Country Plant Farm in Jamesport. For
many years, the farm has been a sponsor of education awareness tours for
Aquebogue Elementary School. His outreach programs and charity to the
community has given his family name the highest respect. George will be
the first farmer in many years to be elected to the Riverhead Town
Board. George was an owner/partner in Gabrielsen Builders from
1975-2000. The company is now run by his son Robert and
brother Tom.
George is currently
the co-chairman of the Riverhead Recreation Advisory Committee, where he
has been a volunteer since 1993. He was also a member of the Open Space
Park Preserve Committee. He is presently a member of the Long Island
Farm Bureau. George attended Long Island University specializing in Real
Estate and Real Estate appraisal.
George’s experiences in
owning and operating successful businesses in Riverhead will give him
the “heads up” in getting the job done, and having the fiscal experience
of coming out ahead. George feels, more often than not, most issues
could be resolved with some God-given common sense. He will reach out to
all residents of our community, regardless of race, gender or social
status. Only by being all-inclusive, would we have the true pulse of our
community and be able to legislate to make Riverhead a better place for
present and future generations.
